M-96
Motion M-96 is a Private Member’s Motion adopted by the House of Commons calling on the federal government to address regulatory gaps in airport emergency preparedness, including the absence of a clear rescue mandate for airport firefighters and response-time standards that do not require access to all operational runway areas within three minutes.
ICAO ARFF Standards
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) sets global safety standards for airport Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFF). These standards require that airports provide firefighting resources and trained personnel scaled to the size and type of aircraft they serve, ensuring timely and effective emergency response to protect lives and property.
